Shirley Ann (Canter) May, 80, of Portsmouth went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, April 19, 2018 at SOMC. Born July 27, 1937 in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Clarence and Marguerite Stockham Canter, she was a 1955 graduate of Stockdale High School, was a homemaker and a member of Church of Christ Chapel @ Riverview. Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be sadly missed by all that knew her. She is survived by one son, Stephen (Jeannie) May of Lucasville; two granddaughters, Kimberly (Roy) Twinam, Kristina (Travis) Smith; one great granddaughter, Kayla Twinam; two brothers, Clarence (Lou) Canter, Paul Canter, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Canter and her former husband, Jerry May. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Brett McGraw officiating.
