Stanley Bender of Minford, Ohio died peacefully on September 26, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife, Erma (neé Gilliland), and daughter, Denise Lynn. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Bender and Mayme Adkins Bender and siblings, Morris, Harold, Paul, Nellie Adams Newman, Norman and James. He is survived by his son, Stanley C. Bender (Susan) of Minford and Fort Myers, Florida, his granddaughters, Ashley Crane (T.J.) of Salem, Indiana and Allison Bonilla (Enrique) of Columbus, Ohio, grandson, Alexander Bonilla, and step granddaughter, Isabella Bonilla. Stan was a farmer and lived by two rules. The first rule was that farming was the only true vocation for an adult man. The second was – refer to the first rule. Stan was eccentric, contrary and cantankerous. He was also caring, hardworking and honest, emblematic of his Germanic heritage. There will be no funeral service. No flowers, please. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford.  Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.
