Stephen "Steve" Wells McManus, Jr., 65, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at his residence. He was born on November 11, 1960, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to the late Stephen Wells, Sr. and Alice "Janie" (Shumway) McManus. Steve was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, whose life was marked by dedication, hard work, and a warm spirit.

A 1979 graduate of Minford High School, Steve began his professional journey at Millhuff's & Schoonover's Grocery Store as a meat cutter. He then opened his own slaughterhouse called McManus Meats, a testament to his strong work ethic and commitment to his craft. He eventually became the owner and operator of McManus Catering, where he built a respected business and touched many through his passion for quality and community service. Steve was a lifetime OSU fan.

Steve is survived by his loving wife, Lora (Munyon) McManus; four children, Courtney (Keith) Lewis, Cyle (Christy) McManus, Andrew McManus, and Aaron McManus; and his six grandchildren: Trent McManus, Levi Warren, Zoe Warren, Carson Lewis, Tristan McManus, and Tyson McManus. He also held a special place in his heart for his extra granddaughter, Laney McCormick; his brother, Daniel McManus; two sisters, Kelly (Brett) Johnson, Marjie (Greg) Bond, as well as many nieces and nephews.

 In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Pam McManus.
