Sue Henri McFarland Bailey, PhD, 82 of McDermott passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at her residence. She was born May 29, 1939 in Natchitoches, LA to the late Charles and Virginia Watson McFarland. She obtained her PhD in accounting, was a teacher and was of the Baptist faith. Sue along with her husband owned and operated Bailey Plumbing & Heating. She participated in the Memory Maker's Group that wrote and shared stories about their lives. In recent years, Sue was a member of the Over 55 Club in McDermott. She is survived by one daughter, Karen (Kevin) Chatfield; one son, Albert (Mary Jean) Bailey; seven grandchildren, Major Sara (Major Jesse) de Anda; Andrea Chatfield, Kelli (Ronald) Barnette, Matthew Chatfield, Lydia Chatfield, Ryan Bailey, Laura Bailey, PhD; four great grandchildren, Darrien, Marius, Kieran, Samuel; three sisters, Bobby McFarland, Ann McFarland, Ellen McFarland; three brothers, Kenneth (Anna) McFarland, Ray (Caron) McFarland, Jerry (Jan) McFarland; one brother-in-law, Tom (Mary) Bailey; one sister-in-law, Joyce (Jack) Williams, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Ray Bailey; two brothers, Richard "Butch" McFarland, Neal McFarland, and one niece, Sandy Shelton. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.  A gathering and meal will be held after the service at Glendale Community Center, please bring a covered dish.
