V. Carol (Conkel) Leive, 77, of Rubyville, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Hill View Retirement Center in Portsmouth. Born September 10, 1938, a daughter of the late Nathan E. and Charlotte Leota (Bower) Conkel, she was a homemaker and briefly worked at Williams Shoe Factory. She is survived by her husband, Richard H. Leive; two sons, Terry (Nancy) Conkel of Wheelersburg, Richard (Angie) Leive of Dayton; one daughter, Lisa (Neil) Rhodes of Chillicothe; two grandchildren, Morgan Rhodes, Brady Rhodes; three sisters, Ellen Wilson, Charlotte Miller, Brenda Sanders; a special cousin Brandy Mullins of Portsmouth, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Conkel and Frank Conkel. Friends may call at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2016. Funeral services will be conducted at the convenience of the family with Pastor Rob McKinney officiating. Burial will be at Bennett Cemetery in Minford.
