Verna B. Haddix, 87, of Portsmouth, died Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Pristine Living Center in Portsmouth. Born December 8, 1928 in Scioto County, a daughter of the late M. B. Walters and Elizabeth (Justice) Walters, she attended Victory Chapel Church of Christ in Christian Union and was a Licensed Practical Nurse for the former Receiving Hospital. She is survived by a son, Dennis (Wanda) Fraley of Portsmouth; three daughters, Elizabeth (Doug) Days of Lucasville, Melany Fraley of London, Kentucky, Jennifer (Tracy) Craft of Cincinnati; 20 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Fraley; a son, William Fraley; a daughter, Amy Fraley; a sister, Irma Walters and a brother, Homer Walters. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2016 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Joe Ward officiating. Burial will be in Fairview-Bennett Cemetery near Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
