Violet Virginia Ferguson, 90, of Beaver passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Heartland of Jackson. Born July 2, 1926 in Portsmouth a daughter of the late Albert and Goldie Esham Wood, she was a librarian for Minford Middle School and attended Stockdale United Christian Church. She is survived by one son, Al (Sherry) Ferguson of Beaver; one daughter, Candy (Bill) Commeans of Stockdale; eight grandchildren, Lana (Jerry) Long, Lori (Dave) Moore, David Commeans, Tyler (Jennifer) Ferguson, Clayton Ferguson, Brian Rider, Ashley (Donnie) Byrd and Joey Rider; fourteen great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curt Ferguson on January 17, 2005 whom she married February 14, 1951; one grandchild, Joshua Ferguson, and one great grandchild, Broc Rider. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends, and many loved ones. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Stockdale United Christian Church with Pastor Major Montgomery officiating. Burial will be at Stockdale Cemetery. Friends may call at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
