William J. Dalton, 81 of Stockdale passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at Four Winds Nursing Home in Jackson. He was born November 24, 1943 in Portsmouth, a son of the late William and Nellie F. Wilburn Dalton. He was a mechanic, a member of Disabled American Veterans, and James Erwin Post No. 622, American Legion. He was a US Army veteran and attended Stockdale Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah (Dawson) Dalton; one son, Joseph Dalton, and two grandchildren, Grace Marie Dalton, and Kaitlyn Dalton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, William David Dalton, and two brothers, Donald Dalton, and Jack R. Dalton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Rick Evans officiating. Burial will be in Stockdale Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from Noon to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Military graveside rites will be conducted by James Irwin Post No. 622 American Legion and William A.
