William Ronald Lutz, 87 of Portsmouth passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023 at SOMC Medical Center. He was born March 22, 1935 in New Boston, a son of the late Eugene Bryson and Fern Alice Bender Lutz, he was the General Manager for 40 years of TM Patterson Paper Box Company, was member of Mabert Road Baptist Church and a member of Gideons International for 50 years.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Joy Annetta Rowles Lutz; one son, William (Nancy) Lutz, Jr.; two daughters, Lorrie (Jeff) Riddlebarger, Amy Beth (Rick) Shope; eight grandchildren, Christopher Lutz, Shawn Lutz, Andrea Grounds, Shawn Miller, Jessica Bray, Joshua Riddlebarger, Ashlee Carmen and Alan Shope, and 18 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Eric Miller; six brothers, Marvin Lutz, Charles Lutz, Raymond Lutz, James Lutz, Russell Lutz, and Bobby Lutz, one sister, Carolyn Lutz.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor David Barth and Carline Shaffer officiating. Burial will be at Rubyville Community Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
