Obituary

William Everett Newman, 91, of Wheelersburg, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at his residence. Born October 15, 1924 a son of the late James Franklin and Martha Elizabeth (Risner) Newman, he was a electrical engineer for Empire-Detroit Steel in New Boston, a member of Western Son Masonic Lodge and Candy Run United Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emogene (Phipps) Newman on October 6, 2004, whom he married on July 31, 1944, and a son William E. Newman, Jr. He is survived by three daughters, Terri (Glenn) Cunningham of Wheelersburg, Dr. Becky Ann (Edward) Thiel of Wheelersburg, Robyn G. (Danny) Thomas of Delaware; 12 grandchildren, Glenn L. (Lori) Cunningham, Jr., Kristen (Benjamin) Smith, Rae (Gary) Heimbach, David (Tricia) Newman, Tehra (Nathan) Clevenger, Matthew (Allison) Newman, Brittany (Nicholas) Altstaetter, Laura (Raghu) Varier, Trenton (Jill) Thomas, Caleb Thiel, Jordyn Thiel, and Noah Thiel, and 13 great-grandchildren, Alexandria Smith, Ellarie Newman, Charlie Newman, Kate Newman, William Newman, Rohan Varier, Avi Varier, Hannah Heimbach, Abraham Heimbach, Elizabeth Heimbach, Claire Clevenger, Benjamin Cunningham, and Sarah Cunningham. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Candy Run United Baptist Church with Junior Murray and Gary Heimbach officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. Friends may call at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. 4Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.
