Arnold “Shorty” Leach, 74, of Lucasville, a former Mansfield area residence passed away Monday, July 19, 2021 at Best Care Nursing & Rehab Center in Wheelersburg. Born January 4, 1947 in Portsmouth, a son of the late James and Wilma Stewart Leach, he was a 1967 graduate of Clay High School, and retired from AK Steel in Mansfield. Shorty loved being around his family and going to his grandchildren’s ball games. He loved to fish and being outdoors.
He is survived by one daughter, Lori (Scott) Rolfe of Lucasville; one son, Chad (Mindee) Leach of Mansfield; four grandchildren, Brittney Rolfe, Bryan (Adrianna Johnson) Rolfe, Lauren Leach and Jayden Leach; one brother, Raymond Leach, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of almost 50 years, Karen “Joy” Leach on July 24, 2017; four brothers, Gene Leach, Ronald Leach, Larry “Babs” Leach, Clyde Leach, and two sisters, Edith Sullivan and Norma Wyrick.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Hank Webb officiating. Burial was at Bennett Cemetery in Minford. A celebration of life will be held in Mansfield at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Shorty’s memory to USSA Adult Day Center, P.O. Box 597, Portsmouth, Ohio 45662.
