Barbara K. Baldridge

Barbara K. Baldridge, 88, of Valdese, NC, a former Swauger Valley, Scioto County resident, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025 in Morganton, NC. She was born December 23, 1936 in Scioto County, a daughter of the late James and Virgie (Marcum) Hayzlip, was a homemaker, and a member of Harrison Free Will Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sisters, Patricia (Pat) Conley of Portsmouth, Ohio, Libby (Gary) Lykins of Valdese, NC; a sister-in-law, Dottie Hayzlip-Rice of Winston-Salem, NC; a special niece and nephew who took care of her, Kristyl Lykins, and Scott Lykins both of Valdese, NC. She was also survived by many other nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews that loved their Granny Barb; a daughter, Pam (Greg) Tingler, and two granddaughters, Sarah (Tingler) Musser and Laura Tingler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 46 years, Jimmie L. Baldridge on May 21, 2002; her former husband, Owen Smith, Jr. and one brother, Larry Hayzlip.

Funeral services will be conducted at Noon Monday, March 17, 2025 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Dan Widdig officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Medi Hospice, 404 W. Flemming Drive, Suite E, Morganton, NC 28655. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
