Betty Lee Hite, 85 of Rubyville passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021 at SOMC. Born August 27, 1935 in Rubyville, a daughter of the late Adam and Susan Frances Howell Swords, she was a former employee of Williams Shoe Factory, was a waitress, a member and former officer of Moose Lodge, and was a Professional Clown “Bele”. She attended Rubyville Community church.
She is survived by one son, Randy Allard; one daughter, Diana M. Lanning; three grandchildren, Mysty Stewart, Jayme Basinger, Adam Allard; four great grandchildren, David Castle, Sean Stewart, Matthew Stewart, Lynzie Basinger; two great great grandchildren, Jack Castle, Daniel Castle, and one sister, Eva Sexton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray W. Hite; eight brothers, Paul, Charles, Walter, Edward, Howard, Lee Roy, William, Robert Swords, and three sisters, Clara Elizabeth Swords, Mary Elliott, and Donna Myer.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 28, 2021 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastors Calvin Ray Evans and Brian Baer officiating. Burial will be at Long Run Cemetery in Rubyville. Friends may call from Noon to 1:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.
