Betty Ruth James

Betty Ruth James, 90 of Minford passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023 at SOMC Hospice. She was born April 9, 1932 in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Thomas and Bessie Jane Eggers James, she was a homemaker, and attended Berean Baptist Church. 

She is survived by two daughters, Sandra (Kevin) Bourne, Lawana (Paul) Whitt; eight grandchildren, Angela (Dennis) Wilson, Kristen Lewis, Darrell Dixon, II, Tommy James, Mashell James, Jennifer James, David (Leslie) James, Brandi Steible; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, and two brothers, John (Mary Ann) James, William (Carol Ann) James, and many nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry C. James on January 12, 2015; two sons, Harold Thomas James, Orville David James, and one sister, Gladys Irene Fisher.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Phillip Minich officiating. Burial will be at Scioto Burial Park in McDermott. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
