Carolyn Jean Dawson

Carolyn Jean Dawson, 78, of Minford passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026 at SOMC Hospice. She was born December 20, 1947 in Scioto County, a daughter of the late Raymond Fredrick and Dorothy (Royster) Dummitt, was a beautician, and attended Minford Church of the Nazarene. She had a deep love for travel – especially going out West, and loved going to Myrtle Beach. Above all, she loved her family dearly and was blessed with many friends.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Robert Dawson; two sons, Patrick Ryan (Wendi) Dawson, Brian Scott (Pam) Dawson; twelve grandchildren, Noah, Lukas, Adam, Madison, Ashton, Tyler, Owen, Casherie, Eden, Brady, Cajun, Stockton; eight great grandchildren, Anna, Eli, Alyvia, Shay, Wyatt, Scarlette, Ophelia, Susie; five sisters, Janet (Roy) Lundy, Diann (Bill) Hagedorn, Sandra (Donald) Lykins, Connie Horn, Phyllis Walker, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Chester Dummitt, Darrell Dummitt, Teddy Dummitt, and Sam Dummitt.
