Delsie Lenore King, 94, of Clarktown, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio. Born August 6, 1930 in South Webster, Ohio, a daughter of the late John Wesley and Sarah Elsie (Johnson) Slack, she attended Minford Community Church. She was a special lady, she loved everyone and loved flowers, and her life was centered around her Savior and family.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas R. King; son Ted (Linda) Newsom; daughter-in-law, Carol Newsom; grandsons, Jason (Mel) Newsom, Michael Newsom; granddaughter, Tanya (Stephen) Fry, Renee Newsom; great-granddaughter, Michaela (Brad) Horn; great-grandsons, Wesley (Percy) Newsom, Noah Newsom; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister Dearie (Dwaine) Godfrey and many nieces and nephews, special caretaker nephew, Anthony Godfrey and “sister” Zella Slack.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Warren Newsom; sons Dennis Newsom, Bill King; grandsons, Jeremy Newsom, Wes Newsom; 3 great-great-grandchildren, and brothers, Melford Slack, Lawrence Slack, James Slack, Clyde Slack and Leroy Slack.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 15, 2024 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastors Chris Oiler and John King officiating. Burial will be in South Webster Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
