Eugene (Gene) Crisp of Wheelersburg, Ohio passed away at Randall Residence on Thursday, February 9, 2023.
Gene was born on November 20, 1926 in Portsmouth, Ohio to Henry and Essie Crisp. He was one of ten children. Gene joined the Navy at age 16, doctoring his birth certificate in order to serve in WW II. After being discharged in 1946, he graduated High School and attended Ohio University and Portsmouth Interstate Business College.
Gene worked at Empire Detroit Steel from 1955-1975, then Lockheed Martin until retirement.
He is survived by his loving wife, Esther of 41 years; and his children, David Crisp of South Webster, OH and stepdaughters Kaye Inoshita (Dr. Tsuyoshi) of Wheelersburg, OH, Dianne Clemens (Stephen) of Cincinnati, OH and Robin Wright (Randy) of Panama City Beach, Florida. He will be remembered as a loving, and ever helpful grandfather to his numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Gene was predeceased by seven brothers and two sisters. His first wife, Betty Crisp, daughter, Gina Anderson, and step son Henry Mason.
He was a member of Sunshine Church of Christ for 40 years and with Esther by his side, they made it their ministry to visit the sick in the hospitals and in their homes. Gene also enjoyed working with the men of the congregation on repairs to the building.
Gene and Esther enjoyed a love for gardening . He also loved golfing with his friends from Sunshine Church of Christ.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Randall Residence staff for their compassion and loving care of our father and to Dr. David Provaznik, ProMedica Hospice staff, especially Chaplain Jon Partlow and Anita (Skeeter) Adkins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2023 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Jon Partlow and Jamie Riley officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.
