Jill Leigh Albrecht

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jill Leigh Albrecht, 56 of Portsmouth, Ohio on Friday, January 14, 2022 after a hard-fought battle with Breast Cancer.  She was born October 19, 1965 and graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1984. She worked as a legal assistant for 20+ years with Attorney Dan Ruggiero, Attorney John Haas and most recently, Jeremy Burnside Law Offices until her battle became too rough.

She is survived by the love of her life Joseph Albrecht (32 years); son, Jacob (Cassidy) Albrecht; and a daughter, Lauren Albrecht; sister, Teri (Steve) Nickell-Kalb of Bradenton FL; niece, Michael Leann McClain (Javier Perez) of David FL and their children Kennedy and Cruz; brother, Michael (Ruth) Nickell of CT and her loving Aunt, Judy Pyle Church (Diggy); special cousin Jodi (Jim) Riley; cousins Jessica Riley (Brianne) Heinz and their children Catalyna and Leo of Conway SC; Joey Riley of Myrtle Beach SC and Ireland Riley (Warren) of Durham SC. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Cindy (Cece) & Jim Doerr; brother-in-law, Chuck Albrecht; niece, Meggan Mayse; nephew, Jason (Sheri) Doerr and Gibson Doerr and many special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Glenn Nickell and Wanda Pyle Nickell, a brother Todd Nickell and a nephew Joshua Cantrell.

No one loved life more than Jill, she fought every day for 18 years and made the best life possible for herself and her family and she did it without complaint. She was a remarkable woman and to have been in her life meant you were something special.

Per Jill’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held later.
