Richard Edward Colley, 62 of Lucasville passed away Friday, May 5, 2023 at SOMC Hospice. He was born August 26, 1960 in Portsmouth to the late Willard and Vivian Lucille Schouster Colley, he was a member of the Carpenters Local 437, worked for Randy Evans Construction. Richard traveled and worked on Cooling Towers at different power plants but he most enjoyed working for and helping anyone that called on him, be it carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, mowing grass, anything they needed he was there. He was a member of Minford Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Coles Colley; two daughters, Yolanda Colley, Nancy Coles (Jason); one son, Farren Colley; seven grandchildren, Wayne Gilmer, James Gilmer, Aaron Gilmer, Chase Okey, Elizabeth Turner, Ayden Turner, Alivea Campbell; one great grandson, Theodore Gilmer to be born in September; two brothers, Larry Colley, Jerry Colley, and two sisters, Judy Busch and Sandy Lewis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Sheresa Gayle Colley and Abby Colley in infancy; four brothers, William E. “Willie” Colley, Terry Colley, Eddie Colley, Willard Colley, Jr., and one sister, Barbara Colley in infancy.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Calvin Ray Evans officiating. Burial will be at Bennett Cemetery in Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be given to the funeral home to help offset funeral expenses. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.
